    Neighborhoods in North Orlando

    Apartments in North Orlando can be found in one of thirteen communities. These areas of Orlando include Sanford, Lake Mary, Longwood, Winter Springs, Oviedo, Casselberry, Altamonte Springs, Apopka, Ocoee, Northwest Orlando, Maitland, Winter Park and College Park. Each of these neighborhoods offer something unique for their residents. For example, Sanford is home to Lake Monroe, which attracts fishermen and wildlife enthusiasts. The downtown area of Sanford livens up at night with many local bars, restaurants, breweries and street festivals. The Colonial Town Center in Lake Mary is a prime location for all sorts of entertainment. You'll find people drive from all over Orlando to experience one of the many shops, restaurants or bars in this area known as Heathrow. Longwood has many open parks and green spaces for families to get out and enjoy. Not to mention, the famous Orlando-based BBQ joint, 4 Rivers, has one of their locations in this area. Altamonte Springs is known for the beautiful Cranes Roost Park, which is located on a lake and is popular with runners and joggers. This park also hosts the annual "Red Hot and Boom" 4th of July celebration, which features world-famous musicians and performers. Maitland houses the RDV Sportsplex, which features 3 full-sized basketball courts, endless fitness equipment, an Olympic-sized swimming pool and a full-sized ice rink.

    North Orlando is Known For

    Apartments in North Orlando are known for the abundance of great outdoor activities. With locations such as Cranes Roost Park, Lake Lotus Nature Park and the Sanford Riverwalk within a short driving (or biking!) distance, this North Orlando apartments are typically highly sought after. Outdoor sports are a big part of this area as well, with sites such as the Seminole Soccer Complex (which is the practice facility for the Orlando City MLS team), Candyland Park and the Lake Mary Tennis Center. With Florida's weather and the abundance of green spaces and waterfront viewing opportunities, there's no wonder why North Orlando is a prime location for residents!

    This area is also known for great shopping. The Altamonte Mall boasts over 100 well known stores, all the way from high-end luxury items to major department stores. Winter Park is home of the famous Park Avenue. This charming area with cobblestone streets is a great weekend location for anyone looking to shop at unique boutiques then grab a bite at one of the award-winning local eateries. With the large staples such as Target, Publix and Wal-Mart being on almost every corner, there is no shortage of shopping in the North Orlando area!

    Another perk of living in North Orlando apartments is being in close proximity to all of the amazing restaurants! Winter Park welcomes guests from all over the city to any number of their local fare. The Ravenous Pig and Cask and Larder are just a sampling of what this area has to offer. Dexter's is a local favorite, with locations around the city. Brunch is always a huge deal on the weekends, so cozy up in Santiago's Bodega or The Porch for some of the best breakfast and mimosas in town! There truly are unlimited options when it comes to food in the North Orlando area.

    Useful North Orlando Highways

    Probably the most useful highway you will need to know when living in North Orlando apartments is Interstate 4. This is your gateway to all of the areas of Orlando, and it runs east to west right through the heart of these neighborhoods in the North. Traffic during rush hour can be a nightmare, however, so be sure to plan your trip accordingly. The East-West Expressway (Toll Road 408) is another major east to west highway which can be used as an alternate to Interstate 4. This also runs through a few of the North Orlando neighborhoods and is fairly easy to navigate. For toll roads, it may be helpful to purchase a SunPass. US Highway 441 connects North Orlando to the neighborhoods to the west, entering into Lake County.  This is not a toll road and can be fairly congested at certain times of the day. The Central Florida Greenway (Toll Road 417) is a primary road for any of these neighborhoods traveling to the eastern part of Orlando.

    Things to do in North Orlando

    When living in North Orlando apartments, there is no shortage of things to do! The Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens in Sanford is a well-known spot for families, both local and from out of the area. The zoo also features a splash park, which comes in handy for kids during those hot summer months. There are many cultural offering in North Orlando, including the Orlando Science Center, Menello Museum of American Art, Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, Winter Park Playhouse and the Cornell Fine Arts Museum. The Enzian Theatre in Maitland offers the popular "Popcorn Flicks in the Park," a free outdoor film night. With unlimited shopping, award-winning restaurants, nightlife hotspots and more, there's no wonder why North Orlando is a prime location for any lifestyle!
