Although Florida's population has grown tremendously, especially around the Orlando area the last few years. There are still some really great produce grown right here in the sunshine state. You will find many u-pick farms close by your apartment near Full Sail. From strawberries to citrus to blueberries Florida has a season where you can head out to the farm for fresh produce and experience picking it yourself. U-pick farms are fun for everyone and farms have added a lot of fun activities that make agribusinesses a popular destination in our state. As we head into the spring season the blueberries are ready for the picking. We included some well-liked spots around your Orlando student apartment to pick blueberries.
AMBER BROOKE FARMS
Amber Brooke Farms is located in Eustis northwest of Orlando. They have something almost every season such as pumpkins, in the winter strawberries, next up blueberries and then sunflowers. They have the true agritourism experience with farm activities and events on the farm.
BECK BROTHERS BLUEBERRIES
In the Windermere area you will find Beck Brothers Blueberries. Check their Facebook page for opening times. In 2022 they opened for picking around April.
DOUBLE C BAR RANCH BLUEBERRIES
Double C Bar Ranch Blueberries is located south off of Florida's turnpike in Kenansville. They plan to open in March, one of the earliest on our list for those that can't wait for farm fresh blueberries.
CHAPMAN'S BERRIES
South in the St Cloud area you will find Champman's Berries. Deer Park Peaches is close by also in St Cloud and offer u-pick peaches.
SOUTHERN HILL FARMS
West of Orlando in the Clermont area is another fun agribusiness Southern Hill Farms. They offer something every season from strawberries, blueberries, peaches, festivals, a kids zone and more.
MICK FARMS
Mick Farms is a small family farm and market in St Cloud. From eggs to kale, strawberries, milk and more it can easily become your favorite stop for farm fresh produce.
LAKE MILLS U-PICK
Lake Mills U-Pick is close to Oviedo in Chuluota and has multiple u-pick options such as navel oranges, tangerines, tangelos, grapefruit, peaches and blackberries. Check the season to pick your favorite or go often.
Nothing beats going out to a real working farm to pick your own. Due to Florida's mild weather we have a lot of crops available year round from citrus, strawberries and blueberries. There are so many farms close by your off campus housing near Full Sail and a trip out to the farm would make a good day trip on your breaks from studying hard at school. Just make sure you grab some sunscreen and other sun protective gear. A trip out to the farm means some time in the hot Florida sun during the warmer months but we promise the blueberries are worth it. We are certain a trip to the local u-pick farms will become a yearly tradition!
