Any tips for spring cleaning my Orlando apartment?

The first official day of spring is March 20. This is a time that we look forward to the spring flowers, green grass, and spending more time outdoors here in central Florida before the heat of the summer arrives. This is the perfect time to take part in the annual tradition of spring cleaning your apartment in Orlando. We compiled a list of some of the hot spots in your apartment that you may want to refresh this spring.

PATIO/OUTDOOR SPACE

It is the perfect time to prepare your outdoor apartment balcony or patio to enjoy this spring. Sweep the patio or outdoor space including the corners where cobwebs may have formed. Make sure to do the same with your outdoor ceiling spaces. Clean the light fixtures, outdoor fans, or furniture. Update or wash any outdoor cushions, door mats to make the space more inviting.

WINDOWS

Clean the windows of your Orlando apartment, inside and out including the window track of any bugs or cobwebs. It is time to let that beautiful Florida sunshine in or enjoy the lingering cool temperatures at night. Plain white vinegar with paper towels work great on windows and any glass on doors. Clean any window treatment and wipe down the blinds.

KITCHEN

The kitchen is at the heart of your Orlando apartment home and cleaning up this space can make your entire apartment feel sparkling clean. Clean out your refrigerator of expired items. Wipe down the inside and outside of your refrigerator and microwave. Use the self-cleaning option on your oven (follow the manufacturer's directions) or check out this oven cleaning option using only baking soda. Go through the pantry to check dates on items to get rid of and reorganize items you want to keep. Donate any unused, unopened items to the local food bank. Wipe down your small appliances and countertops. Clean the kitchen mat and floors.

BATHROOM

Deep clean your sink, toilet, and bathtub. Refresh your towels and buy new ones if needed. Reorganize bathroom storage and linen closet. Go through your makeup and personal items and discard any old items that you no longer use. Wipe down baseboards in the bathroom and clean the floors. If you have tile in your Orlando apartment you may want to clean the grout at this time.

BEDROOM

Dust and polish all larger furniture. Rotate your mattress, clean the bed skirt, mattress pad, and bed linens. Wipe down the ceiling fan, light fixtures, switches, walls, and baseboards. Move furniture and fully vacuum floors in those hard-to-reach areas. Clear out under the bed, dresser, and closet. Anything you no longer need donate to your local Goodwill or other collection sites for those in need.

DÉCOR & FINAL TOUCHES

Remove any wintertime decorations and update with spring colors. If you are a lover of fresh flowers it is the perfect time to pick some up to brighten your space and bring in a fresh spring scent. Purchase a new candle or other home fragrance from Bath & Body Works to embrace the new season.

Whether you live alone or share the space with roommates hopefully this list helps you prepare for the season change and welcome spring feeling like you live in the best apartments in Orlando.
