The city of St. Cloud is located south of Orlando, between Kissimmee and Narcoossee. Back in the early 1900s, St. Cloud was conceived as a retirement community for Civil War veterans, earning the nickname "Soldier City." Since then, St. Cloud has grown into a thriving Central Florida town.

This cozy town boasts a strong sense of community, great schools, and plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy. St. Cloud prides itself on its tight-knit community, and many people choose to live here because of its emphasis on family and small-town vibe. Things to do near St. Cloud

One of the great things about living in St. Cloud is that, although it's a bit further away from the Orlando city center than surrounding neighborhoods, you're only a short drive away from Orlando's theme parks, business community, malls, and dining. You'll feel insulated from big city life, but if you ever need a change of pace, you're a stone's through away from Orlando and the area's busier neighborhoods.

If you want to the kids outdoors, parks and recreation are a growing trend in the St. Cloud area, and you'll be close to a handful of parks including Veteran's Park, Godwin Park, and Hopkins Park. Living in St. Cloud, you'll also be a 30-minute drive from Orlando's attractions and entertainment.

As such a family and community-driven area, there are plenty of activities kids to enjoy. You're right next door to the area's premier schools, too. St. Cloud has over a dozen schools, most of which are public elementary and middle schools.


Shopping in St. Cloud is mainly strip mall-type shopping centers. The neighborhood's real treat for shoppers is its historic downtown, Main Street. Its unique stores are certainly the highlight of St. Cloud shopping.


St. Cloud has its share of national chains as well as local eateries. Family-owned restaurants like The Catfish Place serve up fresh, local fare in quaint digs along SR 500 (or "13th Street" as it's known locally.)
