The city of Oviedo is located in Seminole County in the Orlando metro area. Oviedo is about 20 miles north of Orlando, and is a sought after neighborhood for families and young professionals who enjoy the area's exceptional schools, nationally recognized parks, and community atmosphere.

While Oviedo is relatively far from the center of Orlando, SR 417 can shave a significant amount of time off of your commute. Rarely bogged down by traffic, this toll road will get commuters to downtown (connecting via SR 408) in just over 20 minutes and to the Orlando International Airport in roughly a half hour.

There are plenty of unique things to see and do in Oviedo. For the nature enthusiast, Oviedo boasts the Econ River Wilderness Area, which includes three miles of trail along the Econlockhatchee Rive. There's also the Lukas Butterfly Encounter, an indoor/outdoor exhibit that is home to hundreds of butterflies and tropical plants.

The Oviedo Gymnasium and Aquatic Center has a mini-waterpark and a large gymnasium as well as its own youth leagues and summer camps. There are a handful of golf courses scattered throughout Oviedo including Twin Rivers Golf Club, Winter Springs Golf Club, and the Tuscawilla Golf Course.

The Oviedo area has some of the most robust shopping north of Orlando.

The area is home the Oviedo Mall, which is anchored by 3 main department stores (Sears, Macy's, and Dillard's), a 22-screen Regal Cinema movie theater, and numerous other specialty retailers.

The Alafaya Square Shopping Center in Oviedo includes a Publix Supermarket, IHOP, Great Clips, Advance America, Blockbuster, Planet Fitness, GNC, and Plato's Closet.

Elsewhere in Ovideo you'll find Target, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, FYE, Borders, and a Kohl's Department Store.

Oviedo doesn't have much in the way of dining. You're mostly limited to fast food, take-out, and national chains. The Oviedo Mall has a wide selection of takeout fast food options in its food court as well as a handful of specialty food shops that sell wine, pretzels, frozen yogurts, and much more!
