The Ocoee area is located just south of Apopka, 10 miles due west of Orlando. Boasting a motto of "the center of good living," this suburb of Orlando prides itself on providing an established community atmosphere.

While the city is certainly dwarfed in size by Orlando to the east and even Winter Garden to the west, its leaders have worked to ensure that residents don't have to leave town in order to have fun.  The city sponsors Food Truck Fridays at Bill Breeze Park, overlooking Starke Lake.  Additionally, the Central Florida Film Festival is held in Ocoee each year at the West Orange Cinema.

Ocoee is home to the Jim Beech Recreation Center, which features a unique family aquatic center, fitness room, gymnasium, playground, recreation center, soccer fields, and pavilions. The Jim Beech Recreation Center also plays host to the annual "Santa's Winter Wonderland" and "Easter Eggstravagansa" events.

Over 15 different parks are scattered throughout Ocoee, so there is bound to be one to explore close to where you live!

For avid shoppers, the West Oaks Mall is one of Ocoee's main points of interest. The West Oaks Mall boasts a variety of upscale retailers as well as its own movie theater. There are also numerous superstores distributed throughout Ocoee, along with a variety of unique shops and noteworthy boutiques that are sure to please even the most discerning shopper. Shopping is so plentiful in this area that most apartments are conveniently located nearby to at least one superstore or a handful of smaller shops.

Ocoee doesn't have much in the way of dining aside from national chains and fast food. Many of these restaurants are clustered around major thoroughfares like West Colonial Drive (SR 50), and include popular drive thru joints and franchises like Denny's, TooJays, McDonald's, Subway, Taco Bell, and Texas Roadhouse. You'll also find a handful of restaurants in the West Oaks Mall food court and off of South Clarke Road.

If you're in the mood for something a little more festive, dining options loaded with ambiance and character are close at hand in the city of Orlando.
