College Park, located just northwest of downtown Orlando, is an urban neighborhood, ideal for young professionals who don’t want to live in the busy heart of downtown, but still be nearby. Although small, there is plenty to do in College Park. Unique cafés, restaurants, and bars are plentiful, including The Taproom at Dubsdread, K Restaurant, Harmoni Market, Scruffy Murphy’s, and Gargi’s Lakeside at Lake Ivanhoe. College Park is also home to the Historic Dubsdread Golf Course. Lake Ivanhoe and Lake Silver are popular spots for boating, water sports, and swimming.

The main schools in College Park include Edgewater High School, Bishop Moore Catholic High School, Lee Middle School, Lake Silver Elementary, Princeton Elementary, and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Elementary and Middle School. Shopping in College Park

There is an abundance of unique shops in College Park that you will not find anywhere else in the Orlando area. Locally-owned boutiques line Edgewater Drive and offer everything from collectible comic books to the latest fashions. There is a Publix Shopping Center located on Edgewater Drive as well, which allows for easy grocery shopping and is just a short walk from many College Park apartments and homes. Business Community of College Park

The business community of College Park is mainly centered along Edgewater Drive. It’s lined with doctor and dentist offices, along with repair shops, gas stations, banks, coffee shops, retail stores, offices, and restaurants. Businesses extend down both sides of Princeton as well, but the remainder of College Park is mostly homes and apartments. While being located adjacent to Orlando’s downtown district, College Park is mostly home to small, locally-owned businesses.

Traffic and Driving in College Park

Traffic congestion in College Park is a rare occurrence. Main roads in College Park include Edgewater Drive, Princeton, Westmoreland Avenue, Par Avenue, and Maury Drive. Several of the main roads run parallel, so if there happens to be a traffic jam, an alternate route is readily available. Parking in College Park is usually never a problem. There is plentiful street parking for apartments, and most businesses have large parking lots that easily accommodate their customers. The commute to downtown Orlando from College Park takes only about 5 minutes, either through back roads, or on I-4, and there are plenty of entrance ramps which allow for quick access.
