Depending on what area you want to call home, $1,000 in rent each month in Orlando will typically get you a one to two-bedroom Orlando apartment anywhere from 500 - 1200 square feet. Read through these differing neighborhoods and the typical apartments under $1,000 you will find there, to see which area best suits your lifestyle and apartment needs.

Downtown Orlando

Downtown Orlando is unique to the rest of the city in that is boasts lots of dining and attractions without getting caught up in the tourist zones. If you want to live within walking distance to downtown Orlando it will cost you. However, the atmosphere and entertainment are well-worth the price if that's the kind of thing that's important to you.

To stay within the apartments under $1,000 range, you will have to compromise on size and bedrooms, but not on lifestyle. Nestled in the middle of two lakes, this 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom at the Enclave at Lake Underhill is on the outskirts of downtown. For just under $1,000 a month you'll get 510 square feet of living space that includes a washer & dryer, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator and garbage disposal. Some of their units even feature a bedroom fireplace, which is a nice addition.

Lake Mary

If you don't mind being a little further out, Lake Mary, located 18 miles from downtown Orlando, offers some really luxurious options. The area has been gaining attention for its business community with companies such as Deloitte Consulting, AAA and Scholastic, the last two of which are headquartered here. 

 If you want the metropolitan feel without being downtown, Station House is a great option with a mid-rise style community, elevators throughout, a parking garage, and keyless entry doors.

Windermere

Located on the west side of Orlando and close to Florida's Turnpike, Windermere is a fantastic area for families and even young adults who like a community atmosphere close to the city. 

Kissimmee

Kissimmee is known for its tourism industry with both Disney and Universal Orlando nearby. If you work or just love to visit either of these, Kissimmee is a convenient place to call home. 

If you are living alone or with your significant other, you can find a pretty spacious one bedroom, one bathroom with about 800 square feet. You also won't have to sacrifice on upscale amenities in-or-outside your apartment. Rapallo apartments, a gated community, features gourmet kitchens, oversized walk-in closets and an Italian designed swimming pool and spa.

Lake Nona/Narcoossee

Residents to Orlando know that the Lake Nona/Narcoossee area is rapidly growing and is considered one of the places to be for real estate, with many emerging medical centers and school systems. Located about 20-25 minutes south of downtown, this area is home to families and professionals.

If you want to be near downtown but not right in the middle of the action, Winter Park may be a good option for you.  You'll be able to find reasonably-priced apartments close to downtown, without having to pay the downtown prices.

UCF

Many of the apartment communities by the University of Central Florida (UCF) are student housing and have 3+ bedroom units ideal for sharing. If you are a young professional or professor looking for an apartment that's close by but not as populated by students, you can find a one bedroom for around $900, keeping you within you apartments under $1,000 range.

Mission Bay Apartments features a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment with 870 square feet of living space with washer and dryers in each unit. If you have pets or enjoy being outside, you'll enjoy this property with tennis courts, a picnic area overlooking the lake and a fenced in area for dogs. For an additional fee you can also rent a garage.

Lee Vista

Located just north of Orlando International Airport, the area of Lee Vista's location makes for easy access to downtown as well as Florida's east coast beaches. If you are a frequent flyer, you'll enjoy the short commute to the airport as well.

Maitland

Close to downtown, but with a growing downtown of its own, the city of Maitland has been gaining a lot of attention with its expanding business district.

Maitland offers a good bang for your buck and a lot space for your money. Take this 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom at Grand Reserve.  You can get a spacious 1,110+  square foot apartment with two master bedrooms and a bonus imagination room. You'll find most of your needed amenities with the exception of washer and dryers, although the hook-ups are available and a laundry facility is located on site. If community amenities are important to you, you can enjoy two outdoor pools, tennis, basketball and volleyball courts and on-site car wash.

Altamonte

Located about 15 minutes north of Orlando, Altamonte Springs is a quiet neighborhood suited for families and young professionals. If you are searching for a 2 bedroom with a very reasonable price point, this is a great area to begin your search.
