Congrats on being accepted to the University of Central Florida! Along with the excitement of your new venture and searching for apartments near UCF, you may be hit with the realization that you will need transportation to get around your new school and city. For those students who may not have a vehicle, this could seem like it would pose a problem. Luckily, there are so many options for getting to campus for those who do not own a set of wheels!

The University of Central Florida is such an easy campus for students who are relying on other means of transportation. There are so many student apartments near UCF that offer shuttle services to and from campus. They run throughout the day at a variety of times, so you can be sure that there will be one that fits your class schedule. This beats walking to class in the hot summer sun or one of Florida's famous mid-day summer thunderstorms. These shuttles are free and have pick-up locations at a variety of communities near the school. They even have a grocery shuttle, for students who may need to stock up on food! Be sure to check out which routes service your community and plan your trips from there.

Apartments near UCF are also serviced by the Lynx bus service. Lynx offers convenient transportation at a very low price. This is a great option if you need to travel somewhere else in Orlando besides campus. You can find a Lynx bus stop on almost every corner of the city, so not having a vehicle is really no issue. Due to the low fare cost, this option is very popular with college students.

Another great public transportation option that exists near UCF apartments is the SunRail. These high-speed train runs throughout Orlando and serves multiple stops and boroughs, including Orange, Seminole and Volusia counties. These double-decker passenger cars also have free Wi-Fi, which makes finishing up your homework on your commute a breeze! Avoiding the congestion of Orlando highways, especially Interstate 4, is another great perk to using the SunRail.

The simplest option to getting around without a vehicle? The tried and true concept of walking! Many students choose to get their feet moving due to the close proximity of apartments near UCF. There are so many communities that are within walking distance to campus, so grab your best pair of sneakers and get a workout in each day! You could also purchase a bicycle, which will help your shorten your commute to campus. Just make sure you practice safety when walking or biking to campus. This includes, but is not limited to, wearing a helmet on a bike, not walking alone after dark and watching for vehicles on the road.
