Spending spring break at home in your Full Sail apartment does not mean you have to skimp on the fun. The city of Orlando is a travel destination meaning that there is always something new and exciting to check out. Now is the time to take advantage of not having any homework (or at least less than the normal amount) and relax, recoup and get ready to take charge of the next semester.
If you tend to be more of a homebody and enjoy spending time in your apartment, rest assured you can still fully enjoy your time away from higher education. If you have some next-semester reading you would like to get ahead on, I would suggest taking advantage of what may be the last fleeting days of spring with some reading on your balcony. You can buy some inexpensive patio furniture at your local box store or splurge on a nice hammock if you want to settle in for an extended comfortable reading session. With summer right around the corner, every day will soon be a scorcher and your patio time will be limited to only a few humid minutes each day. So, take full advantage of these beautiful spring days while you can!
Another great place to chill out with a good book is your apartment community's pool. There is a pretty good chance that this will be a louder, possibly rowdier option given the time of the year, however, if a little background noise doesn't disturb you, you'll be able to soak in some sun or float in the pool as you read. You should also check to see what activities and amenities your community has to offer like a nature trail, dock for fishing or fire pit for nighttime fun.
Now that you have fully enjoyed your time spent at home, it's time to get out on the town. If you are a new resident to the Orlando area and are overwhelmed by all there is to do here, worry not. There is a lot of online, informational resources to choose from that will help you narrow down your options. If you are looking for a place to start, Visit Orlando has some helpful articles and lots of different categories to choose from. You can choose from a full list of different categories such as arts and culture, relaxation and shopping- just to name a few.
Spring break is your personal time to spend however you want. This short respite from the hours spent staring at a computer screen, working in a lab, or sitting through lectures is yours and yours alone. Whether you spend every day going somewhere new or simply spend a week hanging out in the quiet comfort of your Full Sail apartment, it doesn't matter. Just have fun, and always remember summer vacation is only a few months away!
