If you are a sports major at Full Sail, chances are you're a fan of sports. A few different sports teams even call Orlando home; the Orlando Magic, Orlando City SC and the Orlando Solar Bears! All of these local sports teams have to play somewhere, right? Just minutes away from your Full Sail apartment you can find a number of different sports complexes and arenas where you can catch a game. Why watch a televised match when you can be there in person, front and center of all the action?
Disney's ESPN Wide World of Sports
Disney is more than fairytale castles and pixie dust, they own a whole slough of companies! Disney owns a whopping 80% stake in ESPN making them the largest shareholder. Just as you would imagine, Disney's ESPN Wide World of Sports is nothing short of magical. This 230 acre state-of-the-art sports complex is about 45 minutes away from your Full Sail apartment. The facility hosts over 60 sports and more than 200 events throughout the year. There is even over 186,000 square feet of indoor event space, so you don't have to worry about a game getting called on a count of rain. Every January the NFL Pro Bowl comes to the Wide World of Sports. During this sports filled week, visitors can experience a free interactive fan zone with activities and immersive exhibits for all ages!
Amway Center
The Amway Center hosts more than just concerts and high end production stage events. Throughout the year you can catch ice hockey, basketball and even bull riding and rodeos! The Orlando Solar Bears call the Amway Center home. The Solar Bears season goes from October to April. If you are a big hockey fan, you can even choose between a full season or half a season membership plan. You might have heard of the basketball team the Orlando Magic. The Magic also calls the center home. Get courtside tickets for the season or just a single game. Camping World Stadium
In the neighborhood of northwest Orlando, you will find Camping World stadium. Opening in 1936 as Orlando Stadium, it has also been known as the Tangerine Bowl and the Florida Citrus Bowl. This particular stadium was built for football and until 2006 served as the home of the UCF Knights football team. Camping World Stadium was also one of nine venues used in the 1994 FIFA World Cup! You can even catch college football games here. You can catch the yearly Florida Citrus Bowl in this very stadium on New Year's Day. Seating just over 60,000 people, this stadium has hosted the Pro Bowl game since 2017.
