How can I safely enjoy Halloween festivities during a pandemic in my Full Sail apartment?

Halloween is normally a loud and proud holiday in the city of Orlando. Halloween Horror Nights, local haunted houses, and good ol' fashioned trick-or-treating keeps the young people out and about for almost all of October. However, since the COVID-19 pandemic has put a stop to a lot of this and made social gatherings a little more difficult, some of your traditional Halloween festivities may be unavailable this year. Despite these roadblocks, you and your friends can still get spooky at your Full Sail apartment!

Better Safe Than Sorry

Your apartment can still be a hub for you and your friends to heat up some popcorn, indulge in your favorite candies, and watch a movie that keeps you on the edge of your seat. To get started, you will want to arrange the living room in a more socially-distanced setup. Make sure everybody's seats will be at least six feet apart, but be confident enough in your decorating skills to make those seats spooky! Lay some candies and a decoration or two on their seats to really wow your guests. If you live with a few roommates, you might want to let them know you're doing some redecorating. Feel free to hang up some jack-o-lantern lights or your preferred Halloween decorations to set the mood for your get together!

You should ask your guests to wear a mask inside your apartment, even if you made sure your seats are properly distanced, and do the same for them. If you would like to serve up some popcorn or shareable snacks, you should fill cups for your guests instead of the usual big bowl. If you use disposable cups for your shindig, find out if your apartment recycles or not before disposing.

Enjoy The Show

Your guests are seated, they're enjoying their snacks, and now you're ready to start the film. Which film should you choose? Gauge the room for what tonight's vibe should be. Are you and your friends in more of a horror comedy? Or are you looking for a real scare? Ask your group what they think. If these are friends you haven't seen in a while, you may want to watch something that doesn't require too much attention. Once you've reached a consensus, load it up, press play, and enjoy!

Once the movie's over and your guests have left, break out your cleaning supplies and disinfect everything they may have touched. If your apartment came furnished, you should especially make sure your products won't harm their furniture. Doing this is a courtesy to not only your roommates, but also yourself.

If you later realize you overlooked something, or one of your friends tests positive less than two weeks after your get together, it may be a good idea to get a test yourself. If you followed the above guidelines, you should have nothing to worry about. On the flip side, with situations like the one we're in, it is much better to be safe than sorry. Regardless of all the safety measures you and your friends have to take, you should enjoy your movie night together in your Full Sail apartment. Have a happy Halloween!
