Everyone knows that Orlando has one of the most exciting, lively night scenes in all of Florida, some located right in the backyard of apartments near UCF. Tourists flock far and wide to experience the thumping music and lights of downtown and get their groove on at a dance party. But for students at the University of Central Florida that are more inexperienced with navigating Orlando's night life, how are you supposed to tell which places will actually be a blast and which are overhyped? This article can help any nervous Knights by giving my recommendations for the best places to boogie near UCF apartments.

Venues Downtown

If downtown Orlando is known for one thing, it's the wild parties. Students of the University of Central Florida unfamiliar with city life may be amazed at how so many bars and nightclubs fit in the same zip code! If you're not picky about where you dance, you can find a place just by walking along Wall Street late at night, but if you're looking for the best venues, here are my personal picks.

For students living in apartments near UCF on South Orange Avenue, there is the high-energy Room 22 night club, the stylish Eve Orlando lounge, and the sleek and cool Vyce Lounge night club. For a more calm nightlife experience, North Orange Avenue is home to 64 North and Aero Rooftop Bar and Lounge, two venues great for drinks and conversation if you need a respite from all the dancing.

The options don't stop there; nearby more venues await exploration. There's Tier Nightclub, known for their energizing DJs, dance floor, and illustrious V.I.P. booths. Attic Orlando is always playing electronic beats to dance to, and their light effects give this night club a futuristic feel. The Patio is a lively bar and club with ample outdoor space, and High Tide is a tropical rooftop bar featuring some amazing views of downtown Orlando and its skyline.

University of Central Florida Dance Clubs

For students in apartments near UCF who are less interested in going out, there are several clubs on campus that provide lessons to dancers of all experience levels and offer an outlet for students to express themselves and have a good time through dance.

Multiple clubs are dedicated to teaching different genres of dance. Ballroom Knights offers ballroom dancing lessons with no experience necessary. At Contra Knights students can participate in contra dancing in a high-tempo, gender-neutral environment. Rhythm of the Knight is a social tap-dancing club, and Swing Knights involve themselves in swing dancing. Latin Rhythm is an organization that promotes salsa dancing. Pulso Caribe teaches various social dances. Shimmy Knights is the belly dancing club.

As well as these, there are organizations that promote cultural dancing. The Filipino Student Association has an amateur hip hop dance group called Fresh Off the Beat. Elements of Hip Hop is an organization on campus that not only dances but promotes the culture of hip hop. And finally, for dancers who care less about the social aspect of dance and more about working up a sweat, the UCF gym hosts free hip hop cardio, Zumba, step and barre exercise classes for students.
