The weekend is approaching – what do you have planned? For many, going out on the town is a no-brainer, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. As for me, I love spending my weekends by the pool with my girlfriends. However, whenever I'm visiting Orlando, it's a different story. I'm either shopping at The Mall at Millenia or enjoying the nightlife downtown and near UCF apartments – no questions asked.
University of Central Florida
Knights Pub
Odds are you've heard of this bar before because it is deemed to be THE bar at University of Central Florida. When living in apartments near UCF campus, you're always close to The Pub. Seriously, like less than a five-minute uber ride to the one of the most popular, if not the most popular, UCF bar. It's also notable to mention that Knights Pub partakes in Sunday Funday, consisting of free drinks, drafts & tiki sangria from 2 p.m. – 8 p.m... talk about starting your week off on a good note!
Knight Library
Deemed as the #1 College Bar in America, Knights Library is a must if you live in an apartment near UCF. It's close to campus and features a Friday happy hour starting at 4 p.m. where ladies drink free until 4:30 p.m. (I know 30 minutes isn't ideal, but who doesn't love a challenge?) Even though it may not be everyone's cup of tea, you have to go to Knight Library at least once.
Stagger Inn
If you're a boot-tapping, country music lover, this is the bar for you. Not only is Stagger the only bar in Orlando where cowboy hats and boots are acceptable, but they also feature a daily happy hour that'll fit any student budget. This Nashville-esque bar serves $3 beers and $5 liquor drinks from 5-7 p.m Monday through Friday.
Downtown Orlando
The Lodge
An Orlando staple, The Lodge embraces Christmas year-round, turning a regular night out into a merry & bright one. Anyone who steps foot in the door will be greeted with colorful Christmas lights and a crackling fireplace (on a flat-screen TV, of course). The Lodge is also convenient location-wise because UCF apartments are less than 10 minutes away from downtown.
Celine
The grand finale – Celine. It's only appropriate that I save the best for last because this is usually my last stop on a night of barhopping in Orlando. Located in the heart of downtown, this venue features a LED-lit ballroom, a speakeasy, a mezzanine and a rooftop lounge so it's virtually the one-stop-spot that'll please everyone.
