Since there's no on campus housing at Full Sail University, where should I live?

Full Sail, located in the vibrant and family-friendly city of Winter Park, is surrounded with a great deal of attractions, dining, shopping, and fun areas to explore. Orlando is rich in diversity, with tons of different neighborhoods and districts offering something for everyone.

Full Sail is 6.2 miles away from the University of Central Florida, allowing their students to be in the center of a collegiate lifestyle. Winter Park allows students to be in close range to many Orlando favorites and classic hangout spots, while also giving enrolled students the flexibility to settle in a wide range of off campus housing near Full Sail.

When looking for Full Sail apartments, location plays a major role. Orlando has many districts that are well suited for students, tourists, and young professionals. 


Off Campus Housing near Full Sail

If you are looking for a more affordable community that is within your student-built budget, you may want to stick closer to campus, particularly in the UCF Area. Luckily for you, thanks to the close proximity of other Orlando colleges like UCF and Valencia State College, there a plenty of student-friendly apartments that are an easy commute to Full Sail. Apartments near UCF in particular offer many student-friendly features, such as roommate matching, individual leasing, or guarantors accepted.

If you are looking to stay just a short distance from campus, try looking in the neighborhood of Avalon Park. This tight-knit neighborhood is flooded with students, young families, and young professionals. There are many condos, townhomes, and apartments to rent or own. There are also many restaurants and businesses surrounded the area, allowing you the convenience to enjoy the best of college living.

Downtown Orlando

Full Sail is nearly nine miles away from downtown Orlando. Downtown living may be more expensive compared to the outskirts of campus. However, the majority of UCF and Full Sail students tend to populate the area, which makes student housing in the downtown district much more attractive. Downtown draws many students to the area for more than just the lively and bustling streets. With high rise buildings, modern and luxury living, and plenty of nightlife and dining, downtown is the central location of entertainment. Students are also attracted to the area due to the abundance of employment opportunity downtown, with plenty of start-ups and well-established businesses renting office spaces in the area. Students have the opportunity to intern or work part-time for companies steps from their apartments and set themselves up for success post graduation.

Baldwin Park

Baldwin Park is another convenient neighborhood to consider when looking to rent a new place near school. From luxury living with urban amenities to humble homes, it is no wonder that apartments near Baldwin Park are another favorite among Full Sail students. Baldwin Park is a picturesque neighborhood full of dining, shopping, nightlife, and entertainment and is home to many young professionals, families, and students. The downtown area of Baldwin Park connects to a large lake that attracts many walkers, runners, and bikers on the weekends and most weekdays. Locals love to walk the beautiful 2.5-mile loop and then grab a drink or bite to eat at one of the local restaurants. Many students love the cozy and family-friendly atmosphere of Baldwin Park, perfect to support you through your studies while still providing an exciting and fun college experience.

Winter Park

Winter Park is home to Full Sail University. Winter Park is known for its quaint brick and tree-lined streets, gorgeous residential neighborhoods, and myriad of shopping and dining options. Park Avenue is the hub of the Winter Park action - full of delicious dining options, upscale shopping, and gorgeous green space. Young professionals of Orlando love spending their weekends on Park Ave, exploring local businesses or having a picnic in the park. Apartments in Winter Park are typically rented by young professionals and families. Winter Park is a great option for Full Sail students who already have roommates in mind they want to live with, as there are plenty of 2- or 3-bedroom apartment options that students rent out together and split the monthly rent and expenses.  


Goldenrod, located just between Winter Park and the UCF Area, is another excellent option for Full Sail students. Goldenrod is fairly similar to both Winter Park and the UCF Area, home to many families, young professionals, and college students & full of shopping, dining, and nightlife. With over 100 specialty shops in the Waterford Lakes Town Center and plenty of local restaurants, there's always something to do in Goldenrod. Apartment options near Goldenrod are similar to Winter Park, as they are typically leased by the unit.

Moving to the Full Sail area gives students plenty of options when searching for a perfect place to call home. From downtown metropolitan villages to college quarters, there is surely a place for every individual.
