As we started our tour, the very first thing I realized was that you could walk from the parking garage to the leasing office, to any unit on any floor without going outside. Indoor hallways with air conditioning and carpet, elevators, and even access to the Freight Elevator, are a few things I DEFINTELLY appreciate at an apartment community!
Floor Plans at Dwell Apartments
I got to see two floor plans: the Inspire and the Dream. Let’s start with the Dream!
Oh my – what a fitting name! The Dream is literally my Dream apartment. It is a SUPER spacious one bedroom with a gigantic walk-in closet, balcony, and an amazing kitchen. All floor plans on the top floor of the building have 10 feet ceilings, as opposed to the 9 feet ceilings on the other floors. As soon as you walk into the unit there is a coat closet, which is a perfect place to store those oversized coats and your shoes. You can even use it as a utility closet to store clunky vacuums and brooms.
The kitchen has dark tile floors, sleek cabinets, and of course silver appliances. Beautiful stone countertops definitely give the place a feel of modern luxury. Just along the bar is an optional built in table which is something great to look into if you don’t have a dining room table. The living area is ridiculously spacious, something unexpected in a one bedroom, and there is a floor to ceiling window. Living in Florida, everyone wants to enjoy gorgeous weather on their own private balcony, and in The Dream you have a 16’ x 6’ space to stretch out and relax. The master bedroom is the perfect size of an oversized King Bed and the walk-in closet is so big you could probably fit a king sized bed in there too! The washer and dryer are located in the bathroom, which may be awkward for some, but is actually nicely placed – right next to the closet! And everyone will love their deep soaking tubs, perfect after a long day of work!
The Inspire was the second layout I got to see which is a Two Bedroom/ Two Bathroom option. One bedroom is set up more as the master suite, and the other is a second bedroom. Both bedrooms have oversized walk in closets and large windows peering out over the balcony. The master bedroom has a large, private bathroom with shower and linen closet. The second bedroom is attached to a dual access bathroom with a tub style shower and linen closet. The fact that both bathrooms have a linen closet really made me excited, since that is a feature you tend to only see in homes, not apartments. There is an open style kitchen with the same appliances, floors, and countertops as the Dream. The leasing agent pointed out to me that the deep kitchen sink had a hose style faucet, something else you don’t typically see in an apartment! The most impressive feature was the size of the dining/living area. It was unreal how spacious it was!
Amenities at Dwell Apartments
As if I have not already convinced you to check them out because of their floor plans, Dwell has some pretty awesome amenities for their residents. The Clubhouse is to die for, with free Wi-Fi access, plasma TVs with a Wii console, a full kitchen, and a billiards table. They hold their monthly resident breakfast in the Clubhouse and it’s also a place that many residents use for personal use. The leasing agent told me that one resident and her girlfriends meet there once a month for a book club and some residents have business meetings there too!
Now I could probably go on for days about how amazing the Pool and Zen Garden is! The apartment community is basically one building shaped like a figure 8, with views either to the pool or garden, or outwards of the community. In one circle of the figure 8 is the pool. With 50 chairs surrounding the water, and Wi-Fi access, this is the go to place for most residents on the weekends. The other part of the figure 8 is the Zen Garden where there are cabanas, social seating, and a gas fire place. This is definitely a great after date hang out spot!
A full sized parking garage means no longer worrying about getting drench when it’s pouring down rain, which is very typical of Florida in the Spring, Summer, and Fall! The Fitness Center has about 20 machines, water fountains, TVs, yoga equipment and hand towels and sanitizer. For the green folks out there, there is even recycling available in the gym! Right near the gym is the Spa. Now the coolest thing is that the community partnered up with a local masseuse who will come out to the community for spa services right in the spa room. So if the giant soaking tubs are not cutting it, just call them up and schedule an appointment for a nice, long relaxing massage!
Attractions near Dwell
Dwell sits right in the middle of the business/corporate area of Maitland which makes it perfect for those working in the surrounding office buildings. The RDV Sportsplex is right next door and a few fast food, and sit down restaurant options are in walking distance. For your typical shopping needs, a Costco, Wal-Mart, and Target are within 5 minutes of the community.
The best part of Dwell’s location is how close it is to Interstate 4. Though you may get caught in some congestion on weekday mornings and evenings, quick access to I-4 is golden when traveling throughout Orlando. This means you can zip down to Downtown Orlando for dinner and drinks, or cruise over to Disney or Universal for a day at the parks.
Why I Liked Dwell
I can’t really tell you many things I didn’t like about Dwell. Between the well-designed floor plans, the luxurious amenities and the perfect location, this place is definitely worth checking out. If everything I’ve said isn’t enough to convince you to check this place out, just listen to their slogan: It’s not where you live; it’s where you Dwell. Now that’s catchy! Well – what are you waiting for? Call Dwell today!
