Are you a grad student or looking for a nice place to live around UCF that is away from all the noise and commotion? Well I found the perfect place for you! Campus Crossing at College Station is one of the smaller communities in the area but with that comes so many perks!
Driving up to the community I was surprised at how quiet it was. Midafternoon on a Friday around a college town you’d expect communities to be pretty busy, especially being located right off of Alafaya Trail, but there was a pleasant calm. When I walked into the leasing office, the manager was sitting at one of the main desks and eager to tell me about the community. It was surprising to see the manager not locked in her office, like you tend to see at other communities. Along with a smaller community comes better, more personalized customer service!
We took a little walk around the community, and I noticed that there was lots of parking, even for the small size of the complex. She told me that there is open parking for both residents and guests; however, they’ve never seen a situation where there wasn’t enough parking for everyone. I also noticed that the area was pretty clean and free of clutter, which is not typical in student housing complexes. I was told that mainly upper classman and graduate students live at the community due to the smaller size and the peaceful living experience.
College Station keeps it simple with only a 4 bedroom 4 bath floorplan layout. The model was beautifully decorated which really gave a sense that people actually lived there, and gave great ideas for decorating tips in your own apartment. Each bedroom had its own walk in closet, which for the record were HUGE! Girls would love these because they literally could fit all of your clothes, shoes, purses, and accessories! Each room also has its own bathroom which is awesome so you don’t have to worry about your roommate stealing all your shampoo or having to wait in the hall to brush your teeth because your roommates been in the shower for an hour (been there, done that!)
There are two furniture packages available at the community which allows for some options and variations, and the beds are lofted creating additional storage within the bedrooms. The kitchen has tons of cabinets for storage and the cabinets are upgrades in all units. There is a pantry in the kitchen which is also a standard feature. All units also have a patio/balcony with comes with a security bar on the sliding doors. Additionally, all of the units are wired with intrusion alarms which residents would simply set up with the security company. A security officer patrols the grounds every day.
Even though the community is smaller, they don’t skimp on the amenities. They have 2 UCF shuttle buses that come through the community, HBO and high speed Ethernet in the units, bike rakes in the halls, a pool and sun deck with cabanas, and a clubhouse. The clubhouse is attached to the leasing office and includes their cyber lounge with computers and free printing and free coffee. The media lounge has a DVD player, an XBOX, a Wii, pool table, and even DVDs residents can rent out. The tanning center is available for residents and guests and there is a small gym which is accessible during office hours.
The coolest thing about College Station is that because its sister community is right across the street, residents are able to take advantage of all their amenities and activities as well. If you a student looking for a place to live that’s not typical of student housing and you are sick of the parties and craziness seen at many complexes, check out Campus Crossings at College Station. You’ll love it there… take it from me!
