When I was on my way to Alafaya Woods I was a little confused at first because it seemed as though I was heading into a neighborhood. When I realized I was going in the right direction I was pretty impressed to see the complex so quietly tucked away in a residential type atmosphere. Being so close to the UCF and the highways, it’s pretty typical to have communities right on Alafaya Trail or University Blvd which can be noisy and congested. Off the beaten path, Alafaya Woods impressed me from the get go.

Once inside the leasing office I was surprised again… they had a Keurig! Now for all of you coffee lovers out there, if you haven’t ever heard of or used a Keurig coffee machine you are missing out. It’s so fast and easy and the cleanup involves almost nothing. The leasing agent at the desk immediately stood up to greet me when I walked in and was so happy to take me on a tour.

First we saw the two bedroom model which was absolutely huge! All of the two bedroom units come with a screened in patio which is great for Florida. You can enjoy the beautiful weather without the bother of mosquitoes and bugs. There is a FULL sized washer and dryer located just off the kitchen, and a separate dining area.

Now Alafaya Woods may not have a huge selection of floor plans but in the ones they do offer, there is so much customizability. When you move in you have the option of an accent wall in your living room. There are 3 different colors to choose from and the wall will be painted and ready for you at move in. Also, all of the shelving in the closets and in the kitchen cabinets are totally customizable to your needs. Simply call up the office and they will send out the maintenance staff to add, remove, or adjust the shelving to your exact needs. Of the floorplans they do offer, there are standard and upgraded options available too.

The 3 bedroom model was gorgeous because it was one of the upgraded units. If you are willing to pay the little extra money for the upgrade, DO IT! The maple cabinets and the black granite-like countertops are sure to impress! The appliances are super sleek black and are also energy efficient, so it cuts out some of the electricity costs. There are no patios in the 3 bedroom floorplans, but instead the living room is extended. The counters and cabinets in the bathrooms are also upgraded, and the flooring is upgraded to tile.

We took a quick zip around the community in the golf cart and I learned about some pretty awesome features and amenities the community has to offer. If you have a boat or a large vehicle, the community has an overflow parking area where residents can park their vehicles free of charge. Alafaya Woods has two entrances which is convenient for the residents, and they just added recycling receptacles around their community. They offer a car wash center, racquetball court, 24 hour fitness center with towels and water, a playground, and a lighted tennis court which was recently renovated. Best of all, the community offers THREE different pools to the residents which are open until 10pm.

When I got back to the office the staff told me all about awesome resident activities they offer, from the monthly resident birthday bashes to the breakfast on the go. Alafaya Woods also offers tons of services online, from paying your rent to renewing your lease. You can even put in a service request through your phone while you’re at the office or in class!

With Publix in walking distance and tons of shopping and restaurants down the street, A schools in the area, and super spacious floorplans at great prices, what have you got to lose by checking out Alafaya Woods? Call up Alafaya Woods today for a tour. You’ll love it… take it from me!
